This app is designed to mimic the action of a whistle rope, differentiating itself from a basic on-off soundboard by leveraging effects offered by the Unity engine. Additionally, users have the option to choose from a variety of background sound effects.

In response to feedback, additional whistle and horn options may be incorporated as per reviewers' requests.

Background Story: The Nashville Steam Preservation Society is dedicated to the restoration of the J3 steam locomotive No. 576, which has been inactive for over 65 years. Through successful fundraising efforts, the NSPS has raised sufficient resources to relocate locomotive 576 to the Tennessee Central Railway Museum for restoration. Once restored, it will operate as a steam-powered excursion passenger service in Nashville, TN. To commemorate this milestone, the NSPS is hosting an event to mark the locomotive's relocation and kickstart the restoration process.

Previous fundraising initiatives featured events where the locomotive's whistle was operated using compressed air, though it lacked the authentic sound without being operational with full steam pressure. To replicate the genuine whistle sound during special restoration events, a whistle pull rope is connected to a computer input, playing lifelike whistle sounds via PA speakers using this innovative app. Developed by NSPS member Alex Mullins with Unity engine technology, this application fills a crucial gap in achieving realistic and desired audio effects.
